How to Adopt a Basset

Thank you for considering adding a puppy from Ozbun Family Bassets and Bernedoodles to your family. All of our basset puppies are AKC registerable (without breeding/show rights). They are all born and raised inside our home with the "help" of our 3 kids and showered with attention and love. Each puppy will go home with a record of all de-worming and vaccines for your veterinarian. We love our babies and will make sure they go to the best homes possible. All our adults are given veterinarian checkups yearly to ensure they are in the best health possible. We also ensure that our adults have their dentals and other miscellaneous routine procedures as needed. All our adults are also genetically cleared of 3 of the more common genetic diseases in Basset Hounds. We only offer Limited AKC registration to homes we approve. We do not sell our puppies to brokers or puppy auctions. If you are interested in adopting one of our babies, please give us a call, email, message or text us!

Bassets: Limited AKC (Pet Purposes Only, no breeding) $1300-$1800 (Depending on the litter's parents)

Bernedoodles: $2800-$4500 (Depending on the coloring and parents)

If you are interested in adopting one of our babies that's currently available OR if you want to get on our wait list, we do require  a $200.00 NON REFUNDABLE deposit to hold a Basset puppy or a $500.00 NONREFUNDABLE deposit to hold a Bernedoodle puppy. This deposit does go toward the final payment. We do accept Paypal (plus 3% tax), Venmo, cash (in person), , and personal checks by mail(so long as checks have cleared the bank ahead of time). All puppies are to be paid in full by 7 weeks of age. If the puppy is not paid in full at 7 weeks and you have not made other arrangements with us then we reserve the right to place the puppy to another family on the waiting list.

We do not let our puppies leave until they are at least 8 weeks of age. They will be up to date on all age-appropriate vaccines when they leave us. We also de-worm every 2 weeks, starting at 2 weeks of age.  All puppies will have had 2 puppy well-checks from our licensed veterinarian and will have a clean bill of health before leaving our home.

We reserve the right to refuse to place puppies in a home that we do not feel comfortable with.

We want to know all about our potential new families and why you want a basset hound. We love families that ask a lot of questions and that also provide in depth information about the home they can provide and the family our puppy will be joining. We only want the best for our puppies and will not sell just to anyone. Thank you again for considering Ozbun Family Bassets!
